Mr. Deal, as President of Waterland Battle Creek Properties, L.L.C, has been a principal in the development of several commercial projects in southwestern Michigan.. This organization rehabilitated the “Hall of Justice Building”, in downtown Battle Creek, into Commerce Pointe featuring 26,000 sf of downtown multi-tenant office space serving Battle Creek. Waterland still owns and manages this property. Waterland Properties has also rehabilitated the 131,500 sf Excell Building into one of the very few multi-tenant industrial buildings in Fort Custer Industrial Park, still owning and managing this property as well.
Mr. Deal has also developed the ProLine Building in the W. M. U. Business and Technology Research Park in Kalamazoo. This new building was built, leased out and then sold under his direction. The Core Building in Battle Creek was also redeveloped and sold by Mr. Deal and Waterland Properties just recently.
As an independent Commercial Broker Mr. Deal has represented many clients in Southwest Michigan. Among these clients were, the Kellogg company, Pharmacia-Upjohn, Pfizer, Smith’s Industries—now General Electric, Fisher Scientific, Battle Creek Unlimited, the Battle Creek downtown T I F A, Borgess Hospital, and numerous local businesses and industries.

Mr. Deal has acted as a Broker helping Griffon Place, Family and Children Services, Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce, The City of Battle Creek find locations for their services.
Mr. Deal is involved in several charities including The United Way, Gull Lake Sports Boosters, and the YWCA.
